Looking for some input on parking enforcement. When do you tow (and is it only a last resort)? What other methods do you have for enforcement besides towing?
Our towing company comes out once a month and tags cars for non movement, tabs, broke down, flat tires etc.. We also drive property daily and issues warnings if needed.
If the vehicle is in our system, we contact the resident. Typically that solves it. If not, we post a tow notice telling that person to call the office immediately or we will tow in 24 hours. If it's parking in handicap, ignoring closed off parking areas (for painting, repairs, etc), or other such 'major' infractions, we will tow same day. We will tag it or call the resident and tow by 5 if not moved or the issue resolved.
We have very limited parking; our residents all have parking stickers. Our Tow company will make periodic drive throughs and tow any cars without a sticker.
I’m in the Dallas/FtWorth market. I only allowed them to tow if someone was in covered parking with no sticker or not registered or in handicap with no handicap permit displaye.I did not allow them to tow for tags being out or inoperable unless the manager called personally to request a tow. If there is no covered parking on the property then some people tow without having a sticker.
