How does your company handle your leasing bonuses? We are given a move in goal for the month and must meet that goal before we get a bonus. Example of this is if you have a goal of 20 move ins and you make the twenty you will get $20 for each move in that you did and you keep getting it for each additional one after that. Now I know some feel that it should be for each application that you get but I don't see how that is fair because each application is not a guaranted move in where when they sign the lease it is guranteed. I have work retail on commission and know that if I did not make my sales goal for the week I did not earn my commission that was just how it work. I also work on a commission sales program that if they return the item and you made commission on it you had it taken back from you (trust me very annoying when it was a $2,000.00 item). I feel that our leasing bonus structure is very fair sometimes that goals are okay are they for real or just messing with us. So what is really fair when it comes to a leasing bonus?

We actually have a scaling bonus structure, where the “per unit” bonus amount goes up depending on the total month-end leases per agent. For example, if the agent got 5 leases for the month, they might only get $25.00 per lease (amounts are just for example), but if the agent gets 10 leases for the month, they might get $50.00 per lease. The more leases they get, the higher the bonus amount is. It works great!
