Anyone have a bed bug procedure they wouldn't mind sharing? In particular, notices to residents advising them what to do to prepare for the exterminators to come? I can't even find something like that on google...Thanks for any help!
We have had great success doing the dog inspections with Ehrlich. They have also been very helpful in putting together literature on how to spot bed bugs in your home and our local treatment company has helped with literature on how to prepare for treatments. Have you seen if your pest control company has anything already written?
Hey April,
Thanks for the input. We have instructions from our pest control for the heat treatment, but they were going to do a chemical treatment first, until they could come out for the heat treatment. They didn't have anything to give to the resident for the "interim" treatment that they were using to "contain" the bugs. The treatment was going to include putting chemicals in the walls to keep the bedbugs from traveling between units, and some kind of treatment to the unit itself. But I don't have a "best practices" document for preparing. It does seem like the pest control company should have, doesn't it?
THANKS! Best to you!
Nvm I have your email, sending now. And if you see Victoria next week I'm sure you can discuss more of it then. She has become the local bed bug expert.
Btw Mary, why are they doing a heat treatment if they are doing a chemical? Usually they only do the steam treatment if someone has allergies to the chemicals. The chemicals have a residual that kills and the steam only kills on contact. So with the stream treatment it's not as effective.
