I have had multiple techs have similar issues with residents blocking the door and refusing to let them leave, or change into lingerie (or nothing) and block doors and in the worst report, stand over them naked while they are fixing the sink. I think recording this was a smart idea and I am seriously thinking after seeing this video... should we all be we wearing body cams like Police?2 years ago

Now that residents are more frequently home (remote work, etc.) than a couple of years ago, opportunities for resident confrontations are higher. This doesn't even discuss the high maintenance team turnover rates, so residents seemingly see new faces more than returning ones... A few suggestions: 1: Use radios on-site instead of cell phones when possible. The benefit of a radio is one button, instant communication to everyone for a rapid response. 2: Discuss situations like this with maintenance teams to ensure that our team members understand protection goes both ways. 3: Ensure the team's culture is one of protecting each other and the residents. (often, the "each other" is placed subordinate to residents... this is wrong) 4: When a team member (office and/or maintenance) responds to a resident with a history of challenging situations, respond with a...He handled it VERY well.
