Father's Day is right around the corner. Here are SIX Ideas to help celebrate our Fathers, Grandfathers, Step Fathers, Foster Father & Father Figures in our lives!
1. Organize a Father's Day card-making activity in your community room for all the little ones to come and get creative. Provide construction paper, markers, glue, scissors, and lots of ideas for fun cards. Help the kiddos make special Handprint cards for dad! You can even set up an area to take photos of the children with a message written to their Dad on a chalkboard. Then print out of the photos for them to include in their card.
2. What Dad doesn't like a BBQ? And this time, he doesn't have to do the cooking. Don't have a lot of budget for activities? Make it a potluck. You supply the hot dogs and hamburgers, residents bring the sides.
3. Want to make it really easy? Invite several Food trucks to come to the property. If your budget allows, make arrangements with the Food truck owners to sell you vouchers that you give to all the dads.
4. Tech tutorials. Hire a tech-savvy repair person, or your resident techie, to assist other residents with personal tech problems. The tech expert can work with residents and show them how to use new technology, install software, adjust application settings, fix basic connection problems, and so on. Technology tutorial events like these are great for busy families, older residents, and technology newbies alike.
5 Donuts for Dad. Who doesn't love donuts? Pass out some tasty pastries in honor of Father's Day.
6. Plan a Father-Child Filed Day with events that Dads and kids can take part in. Korn hole, sack races, Dodge Ball (use nerf balls, they are softer!), tug of War, Three-legged race
Remember that creating opportunities for residents to gather and socialize can help property staff accomplish a wide variety of goals, including:
Establishing bonds between neighbors
Reducing friction between residents
Creating a memorable experience for residents
Fostering local partnerships
Creating resident referrals
Increasing resident retention
Building trust between residents and property management
Also, remember I am always here to help you!
