While doing some "market research" (aka trolling through apartments.com, rent.com, etc. at 2am), I noticed that no apartment complex in my area is offering "Move-in Specials"....
Anyone else notice this trend? Pandemic related? Thoughts?
From what I've heard, many markets have very strong occupancy right now, so it sounds like they are easing off of specials because of that. But maybe someone better versed can chime in.
Last year, we were also in the middle of leasing up my newly renovated property, so we did have a special for move in, but since it worked so well, as we hit 2021, we took away the move in specials, and now have waitlists going into 2022. Because of the way the housing market is going, and everyone is selling and looking to rent instead, occupancies are definitely better than in previous years, so no specials are necessary, at least not at this time.
