First of all, I wish I had read your blog post earlier because it had some really interesting stuff! Clicking on a few links got me to " PiMPY3WASH ", which is a Twitter account for a washing machine that alerts its owner when its done with the spin cycle! Pretty fun stuff.

However, even though the "cool" factor is way high on this, I'm not sure it will be a realistic option for apartment communities. I can't see this getting beyond the DIY ("Do It Yourself") stage for quite some time, unfortunately!

I have to agree with you. Our industry tends to lag behind in the technology curve anyway. But I thought this was definitely a cool idea.
