Had a great time reading all the comments on today's #AptChat about Bed Bugs , and one link was especially interesting from @AskTheOrkinMan , sharing that using bombs and foggers can actually make the infestation worse, as it generally doesn't penetrate the areas of the infestation and instead just disperses the infestation it to the neighbors!

Bombs and foggers don’t work on bed bugs and can make them worse

This had to be one of the better chats thus far. It was great having those experts participate on Twitter. I learned a ton from all of them. They will be getting some kudos in my next blog post. I thought that was interesting as well Brent. The other point I enjoyed was how these companies are actually going in to clean up other extermination companies mess. It goes to show that you need to ask the right questions when selecting your service provider.

Great info, thanks! I went ahead and shared it with my sites. Always good to be educated in pest control like many other services in our industry (i.e. landscaping, maintenance,etc.). Thanks again!

I am sorry I missed the bed bug conversation on Friday.

I find this issue interesting since three years ago I was approached by three different companies at a conference I ran, wishing to talk with other owners about bed bugs. However all of them wanted it to be very hush-hush and didn't want others to know -- but at the same time desperately wanted to talk with other owners having the same issues. A veritable "Scarlet Letter" at the time. Things have certainly changed.

BTW, read a good article about getting rid of them without chemicals or sprays. Think heat:

Good luck to all who have to deal with this issue. No real easy solution that I have seen.
