Sorry Mark........can NOT agree with you about this marketing
video - are you KIDDING ME???! Geeezzzz. This is extremely lame...well, it might appeal to the 18 to 23 yr. old age group. I've seen some VERY PROFESSIONAL marketing videos...great photography and professional voices. But, this video is just very just "embarrassing"...I think you can still produce a very creative and unique marketing video without being SILLY about it...keep it professional.
I made a crucial mistake today by listening to this at the beginning of my day. "Go Leesburg... Go Leesburg" is now going to play inside my head all day. Definitely appeals to the 18-24 age group. Cheesy? Yup. Catchy? You betcha. LOVE that it uses local businesses.
While I agree that video is a bit cheezy, I also think it is funny and enjoyable, and that is what makes the video a success. Yes, professional videos can be launched all day long, with many creative special affects, but sometimes the simplest most silly video would be the one that sells you the most. Really smart doing this video, well done.
I personally enjoy this video and agree with Pedro's comments. Looks like a fun place. Sometimes it's good to put a real face to a promotion. Who cares if its a little cheesy.
Also as Bill's mentions, I now have Go Leesburg....Go Leesburg in my head.
In regards to creative, this video does the work. In regards to professionalism and getting the right people in the door, i question it. People still believe its about getting people in the door, but marketing has changed now and its all about keeping people inside once they arrive. Its easy to get people in the door with how big the Internet and Goodle have become these days.
Now in regards to having good content on your site, take for instance this video:

My thoughts on the video. Well done, professional, lots of information -- but sadly really, really, boring.
Personally if I was to make a video I would try to find the combination of the humor and spontaneity of the first video and pair it with the professional style and information that your video offers.
