Our community has decided to do a Patriotic theme for the summer. I am in need of a tag line to match. We aren't offering any specials and don't forsee any being offered this summer, due to the market improving here. In fact we will be pushing rents! Any suggestions on a tag line will be greatly appreciated!
I can't believe this hasn't already generated a TON of fun slogans! Whatever your slogan, it doesn't have to be a true "God Bless America" type slogan - you just have to put red, white, blue and stars with it and you’ll have said it graphically!
How 'bout this: Oh Say Can You See Your Rent Going Up? (JUST KIDDING!)
Seriously, what about some of the following: Home of the Free, or: Celebrate Home Grown Heroes - do a local event where people in your town can nominate Heroes, telling their story - get press involved, get prizes from vendor partners and local businesses. Have a contest in the newspaper for the best Hero story – get vendors and businesses to donate prizes/prize money for the vet and the person whose story is selected...or start smaller. Celebrate a Great American in Your Neighborhood – Have residents tell stories of their patriotism, military service, or something – then each week pick one to feature in your newsletter, give them a prize, hold a resident event or give them a personal party to invite their family and friends...
Start a Welcome Home Soldiers group in your community that goes to the airport anytime any military person returns home. What Living In America Means to Me - Use this tag line and then have an essay contest, involve all the school-aged kids, maybe offer a scholarship or something...open it to the broader community and schools.
End your patriotic themed summer with the mayor, a parade, local celebrities and pageant winners...
This isn't a tag line, and the idea isn't fully formed in my head, but if you have a big event during the program, why not use it as an opportunity to teach kids about Paul Revere's ride while driving attendance to the party? As we all know, Paul Revere rode across the countryside to Lexington, knocking on doors warning that the British were coming. So here's the idea: Have the kids show up at the community party about 30 minutes before the main event. Tell them the story about Paul Revere's ride, and then "enlist" them to "warn" the community that the Redcoats are coming. With chaperones, they then go through the community telling the neighbors about the coming invasion, and to follow them to safety. Maybe each kid/team gives out a certain color wristband, and whatever team brings in the most residents wins a prize. So now you've gotten the kids involved AND reminded your entire community about the event.
thanks so much for all the ideas!! I have been using "Star Spangled Service at Country Club Apartment Homes!" I also found a door hanger at the Dollar Treet that says "3 Cheers for the Red, White and Blue" I love how my team has embraced this theme this year. We have flags on all of our signs and found tootsie rolls and pops and gum in patriotic colors. Keep the ideas coming, I could use them for craigslist postings.
