Has anybody used Pinterest for apartment marketing, and have you tracked the flow from the traffic? I just looked at our own analytics, and granted, we have not done a ton on Pinterest and we are obviously not marketing apartments, but traffic from the site averages only 15 seconds per visit with a 90% bounce rate. Now that traffic is mostly going to blogs, so maybe Pinterest doesn't make sense for blogs, but I'm curious if anybody else is seeing good results. Thoughts?

Currently, I have not had any prospects come directly from Pinterest. However, I believe in keeping the name of the property in a good spotlight as much as possible.

I don't believe Pinterest has my particular demographic, but they talk. Word of mouth is very important, especially in my market area. I'm not in a small town, but it's not a big city, either.

Someone might ask "Do you know a good apartment complex?" If they have seen me on Pinterest, there's the word of mouth referral.

I have also started putting my property name in the "City" space on my Craigslist ad, just so my name is seen more often.

It takes a while to build a good reputation and these are great places to get your name out there.

Pinterest is all visual. If you have a hip or really cool apartment or property then you should absolutely be pinning it. But what may be more valuable - when it comes to blogs - is writing some content that focuses around interior design, painting, decor, etc. You could also try a Pinterest contest where your tenants post pictures of their interior design skills. This would promote your property and at the very least you'll have your tenants showing their cool apartments.

You aren't going to get a bunch of renters like you would from other sites. What you do get is brand exposure and definitely a "hip" factor. That may go along way in some areas. Best of luck!

p.s. I would not measure Pinterest success from leads - I would just look at pure traffic and sharing of your content.
