I lost my man card last night, and I blame Twitter. I was flipping through the stations and came across the new show, Glee. It was a rebroadcast of the first episode (or pilot?), but with a creative new spin - live Tweeting! Although it took a while to get the process rolling, Glee castmates were soon sending out Tweets as the show was in progress, with the Tweets actually showing up in the broadcast!
Granted, everything didn't go completely as planned and I'm sure it will turn off a lot of people: There were technical difficulties, nobody actually bothered to answer fan tweets as promised, and the tweet area was very large on the screen. But considering Glee (and Fringe) I believe were the first to try this, I have to cut them some slack! In the end, this is probably going to be a "love it" or "
hate it
" scenario for most people. For me, I appreciated the concept, although I didn't think the execution was spot-on. I'll wait to see if they try again and if they improve the format before I make a final judgment.
But now I am a Glee fan, and my man card is lost to the world.
Did anybody else see the show?
