Happy New Year! As we enter 2009 many people remark at how quickly time is moving as if accelerating to some greater destiny. We are all aware of the challenges facing us in this new year. 2009 will be an interesting year to make changes in our lives, as "change will be the name of the game." A new year creates new energy as we try to make a plan which involves reprogramming our thought patterns and lifestyles, to be the best we can be, hoping we succeed.
Among the common goals are: losing weight and eating healthy, joining a meditation or yoga group or the like, reducing stress, paying off debts and saving money, job and education changes, quit smoking drinking, learn compassion and help others.
What are some of your goals/resolutions for this year? For me, it's finding more balance between work and play---less work more play---without guilt!
Ruthie - great question. I wonder what you are going to do specifically to attain your work/life balance goal. What activities will you give up, what will you take on? What will you do differently?
Well Mike, I started the journey a year and a half ago when I moved from Michigan to the mountains of Western North Carolina. At this point, I am still traveling way too much—I was home about 70 days last year, with work taking me to Michigan and Maryland. My goal is to continue doing what I love (property management) within 100 miles of home. How am I going to do that? I don’t have it all figured out yet, however, I will do a lot more networking.
And when I am at home, I will take out my paints and canvas and actually use them! I will walk in the mountains for inspirations, I will quite my mind and just enjoy!
What about other folks---are you making changes? Are you setting goals? What are YOUR plans for the NEW YEAR?
