I would like to know how residents are being notified upon package arrivals, aside from calling residents, email or in some cases the mail delivery guy will drop it off to them. Is there a different way to approach this? Any ideas, thoughts?
We use a combined method of notices on the mailbox (interior low-rise), an email or text message depending on their preference, and a courtesy call if they've not picked up after a few days.
I was doing some research when we were converting to Yardi and found some integrated services like Notifii, Logware, and PackageZen. There's a wealth of services out there, and some of them are fairly inexpensive. All you do then is just enter the package arrival into Yardi (if you want to get tech-y, you get a barcode scanner and scan it in!) and it will automatically send the notices out.
We're small enough we didn't bother with the integrated systems, but let me know if it works out! I'm always interested in making things easier!
We use the CallMax package app to notify residents about packages. The app notifies the resident by phone call, text, or email based on the residents preference. CallMax is integrated with RealPage, so the app is updated with new resident info every night. I believe the cost is $99 per month, or less if bundled with other services.
Using this app has definitely cut down on the number of days the packages remain in our office.
TGM Communities all use Notifii, which is downloaded to an Ipad mini that has the ability to sync with your property management software. We can scan the bar code of each package that arrives and it automatically send the resident a text and email. We also use this program on our desktops to send residents reminders of events and community rules and regulations.
You can automate text messages to tenants when their package arrives. TrueDialog.com works with apartment buildings to do just this and it saves them alot of time on calling and reduces clutter.
