I have in my second month of working in multi family. I love it. The problem is the sales manager slash one site guru showed me nothing the two days she came to train me. I have major skills gaps because of it.

For example

. My manager shot out my first leases for me so I had no honest to god idea that I was supposed to go into one site and generate them once I was told to do things on my own. I honestly thought since she had final approval she also generated them

I got past that hurdle . Fair enough. Now I am doing my first corporate lease . These are a little tricky because in some cases we have been doing paper apps in blue moon. So I emailed my assistant manager today to see if there was indeed the case. Can they apply? Also what docs do I need to ask for as it is a corporation who is paying the bill. Do I just run an app on them? Is it manual through one site? Do they do it online? I What docs do I need? There is nothing written in stone on this as far as a procedure . So basically I was told. I should figure it out on my own. I have tried asking my coworker but she had never worked in property management period. She knows less than I do. I want to do right so I ask questions.

I get yelled out for asking questions because they act like I should know when clearly I don’t.

To tell you how bad it is I have had to ruffle through 4 computers to find a single document. I am told there is info on on our tool box. No ther isnt.

So basically what happens. I will know half a procedure because I am given things peace meal.

Is there a go online manual I can find online? Can someone here email me some things if I had some questions. I want to succeed at my job. I don’t want to make a screw up

As far as Onesite is concerned, they have tutorials and great help tools. Usually in the top corner of every screen there is some sort of help button. Start reading as much as possible.

Pull previous leases/files and use them as a guide.

Get a copy of the company's policy and procedure manual and read it from cover to cover. It sounds like you are going to have to take your training in your own hands. Keep asking questions though but perhaps rephrase it with, "I have this situation, I think I should do X, but it's important to me that I do things correctly so can you confirm that I'm on the right track?"

That sounds so incredibly frustrating, and I'm sorry you are not getting the support you need. The person above me gave great advice - pull old files and study those, and then create your own training guide to help you remember all the steps for different processes. If you have specific questions, please feel free to post them here and we will try to find someone with help with the specific systems you are using.

Ultimately, if you decide to stay, there is a definite positive lining to all of this. Although it can be a vast amount of work, building this can give you a deeper understanding of the different processes and systems than simply being told the steps. If you look at it in this light, you can see the positive ramifications for your career down the road.

Sorry, I am just now seeing this. There must be a lag time in post times. I just reposted a second thread, pretty much duplicating what I said here

Anyway, sorry about that.

With OneSite, you will also have access to their client learning portal - www.realpagelearning.com/V5/login/61/ . Spend some time there and see if you find any of the courses helpful, just keep in mind that company policy and individual rights in the software may not be mirrored in the standard courses.

Does your company use an LMS for onsite training (Grace Hill, EasyLMS, Edge2Learn, etc)? If so, make sure you take the assigned courses, and look around in that system for courses that may help as well.

Ask your supervisor (or your company's training department, if they have one) to set aside some time to go over questions and concerns. Day to day life in multifamily can be chaotic, so scheduling time may help things go more smoothly.
