Are any other communities getting way too many of these companies such as Apartment Data asking for an in depth market survey each week? I’m not referring to the comps.
We have three separate phases and nearly 20 floor plans. Between all these companies they will call sometimes 10 times a week. If you provide them all the info they are looking for it’s easily a 10 minute phone call.
Without being too rude how are you limiting all of these companies from calling so much?

I tell them I'm not interested in them selling our info so that I then get unsolicited faxes and emails. Then I hang up. Recently it's Yardi Matrix. I just don't have the time.

It’s SO much. We have different rates for unit size, what floor they are on & water/parking lot View. And they call so many times

We give our current occupancy and leased percentage, specials and then tell them the rest is accurately listed on our website for their most up to date information on pricing and availability

I usually ask them to email ALL the info they are requesting and will have by end of week. Then also limit to once a month

You can ask for an email and have a template to send to them. You can block the numbers or tell them you don’t give out that info.

I always tell them all information is available on our website. They can take it from there. Our time is valuable and they don't really care.

We tell them all is the same as yiu asked yesterday. They can be quiet persistent. We asked for their phone number and that we would call them when things changes ans they hung up on us.

Tell them no. Or ask them to send you market data. Take your rents ad average them and give them one amount. Or give them your highest.

Have you verified with apartment data that it is them calling? If they tell you that they have no email and hang up when you ask for their phone number, that often signifies a scam operation.

Some have an email link that you can fill in and its fast and easy to do when u can. Ask if thats an option. Otherwise tell them to call another time.

Oh my gosh, in my 24 years of PM experience this came up for debate a lot. You are busy people in this industry. Yes, see if there is a template you can fill out in your time. It is important to participate though, as long as they make their information they collect on others available to you as a result. I've worked at SO many complicated properties where prices change daily, it can be a bit much to explain. Keep it simple.
