It's Friday & I am so grateful for our Maintenance Techs. You are my heros/sheros! Sometimes we forget what our maintenance folks really go through. Here's some of the things that they do on a regular basis while I get to keep my distance!
Pull carpet that has been continually used as a toilet by pets.
Remove or clean out a clogged pea trap.
Work on heat pumps when the temperature outside is 85 degrees.
Respond to an emergency call on week night or weekends to plunge a toilet in an apartment with one bathroom
Pick up garbage that is yucky, slimy, nasty & full of maggots.
Clean out a really nasty smelly apartment after a move out.
Plunge toilets full of poo, replacing a toilet flange and wax ring.
Clean all the gunk out of, repair or replace the garbage disposal.
Shovel snow or spread salt when it is 18 degrees.
Take the poop out of the pool.
Crawling under a sink to fix a leak where everything is wet
Apease the concerns of a worried resident
A BIG THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU! I love you for helping us make our communities so much better!
Gerry! Thank you for taking the time to write this. I have been in the multifamily housing industry for about 6 months. I recruit Maintenance Jr. Apprentice roles for my organization, and this really helps to put me in their shoes, so I know the challenges they might face!
