šŸ’” Buy the expensive batteries.

I've been renting over the last 12 months and have had to place 4 work orders to get the entry door smart lock batteries replaced. Every time, it's frustrating because either the door takes a very long time to open or, if I'm on a rush, it takes a while to close.

Most recently, I chatted with the maintenance technician, and he explained that they have had to start ordering the lowest quality more affordable batteries due to budget restrictions and that he is sorry that he is having to come every few months to replace the batteries. He further explained, he is having to replace the batteries for most units at least every 3 months.

šŸ¤” ā“ General question - are the savings worth the volume of work orders that are probably being submitted and the renter experience? What categories are ok to compromise? Batteries are a small ticket item when it comes to maintenance supplies and expenses, but I think this could apply to a lot of things.

Wow, this is crazy. Small savings can lead to big expenses if they are not well thought out.
