I want to throw this question out to find out what others are doing... When you have a fan page, you can also click on the "like" link under your own post. No matter that having that link available for authors of the post doesn't make much sense, I'm wondering if you all actually click on your own link and "like" your posts? Does it get the ball rolling for others to "like" it as well, or does it just look goofy?
@Lori I tend to agree with you. The only reason I ask is a) I've seen it done elsewhere, and b) I've wondered about the psychological impact (i.e., people are more likely to comment/like/etc if somebody else already has...)
@Jonathan I'd like to say that I gruelingly take the time to post everybody's blogs, but in reality, it's all automatic.
@Brent For all the hard work you put into this site and syndicating everyones work to twitter and facebook--It deserves a huge LIKE
As far as liking ones own posts, I never really thought about it before. The only thing that came to mind was happiness with ones own work. These blog posts take a lot of time and research in order to put them together. So perhaps if you like what you wrote that to me is ok--may show some happiness and accomplishment for the hard work you put into it. Just a thought.
Brent, this is a really interesting question. I do occasionally "Like" my own posts, especially if I think they will generate a good conversation.
Why? Because then I get updates on all future comments on that post. For now, Facebook does not offer the ability for Page managers to automatically follow comments on their Page (at least without some paid third-party tools). However, if I leave a comment or "Like" the post, then I'm notified of future comments. So I do it more to monitor the ensuing conversation that to be self-promoting.
If anyone has a better way to monitor posts on your Page, I'm all ears.

which solves this problem because tracks comments and is free for a single user. Thanks to the new FCC laws, I need to disclose I have a financial interest in the company - I am an angel investor with a minor ownership in the company.
I frequently "like" my own posts on our fan pages because it helps me monitor responses. By using the "like" button from my profile notifications are sent to me of the responses we have received, in this way I am able to go to that fan page and respond in a timely manor. Without clicking the "like" button I would not know about the communication until I go in and make my next post.

Sometimes I "like" my own posts so that I can get the notifications, like Tami pointed out. Other times, I "like" it because someone else posted a comment that I REALLY like, so its a way for me to say I "like" the comment!
