Pizza Delivery Places

I have a seriouse question that I need help with! How do you approach this subject with bussinesses and residents? We have several pizza delivery places near one of our community that will not deliver day or night. Seriosuly this is true my mouth about fell open when I was told this. I want to know how to go about this and fix it or come to sometype of solution without being laugh at by everyone in the office.

Jolene, are you saying they normally deliver, just not to your community?

Yes they will deliver to everyone else just not to this particular community day or night! I just have never heard of that and not sure how to over come that particular aspect. I'm right now trying to do alot of outreach marketting for the community and keep running into that with the pizza places here. I'm stumped about it and everyone keeps laughing at me when I keep calling pizza places.

So when you talk to the managers at these places, what do they say? What is their excuse?

That I have to talk to the area supervisors who incharge of their safety. That we can pick up the pizza but they will not deliver to the community.

It is the same here. They will deliver to my community but they will not deliver across the street to another community due to safety of their drivers. If it is a high crime area and past problems have occurred they will do this. It's actually not that uncommon from what I have heard. I don't understand why you are being laughed at when this is a service that several people use daily. I wouldn't laugh at you at all.

I would try calling the area supervisor advise them that you are under new management (only if you are?!?) and ask them if they would consider delivering to your community again. Tell them that you will put their flyers in your move in package as the preferred pizza for your community... a win/ win for both.
Also assure them that you will do your best to make sure the propety is well lit at night so that they drivers will feel more secure.

Thank you for the advice I have a call into the area manager who I have work with in the past and am going to see what I can work out. I just never heard of such a thing. If safety was the case then they should never offer delivery because they can be robbed anywhere even in the nice areas of towns. Sigh I think they just liked to laugh at my ideas sometimes I do have pretty funny ones but I was seriouse about the pizza places. I LOVE the you will be our only preferred pizza place. I think I will also suggest to only deliver to those who pay by credit card so there is no cash transaction and the resident has to come to the car to get the pizza. Thank You!
