Pictures to a Cellphone

What are your thoughts on sending a picture to prospects cellphones.

I'm mulling over to when I receive a phone prospect to offer them to send them a picture to their phone. Quite often they are on the go and are calling us on their way to or from work etc or some use their phone more then emails. And just an additional service we can do. It isn't hard to do, just take your community pictures compact them down and send to [email protected]

On top of that, it is another thing that I know for sure my comps aren't doing and it makes sure that I stand out as a community...

What are your thoughts on this??

I give a big thumbs up to this idea - not only pics but you tube video links. We are just not quite there on embedding video in text or email. [Someone correct me if I am amiss on that point] I think you take a permission based approach - asking first if they are open to it. I also think it's impressive to do it while you are on the phone.

Bigger still is the idea of allowing them to take pics or video [supply them with a FLIP video camera] while on tour and then commit to sending it to them after they leave the office.

Thanks Mike, I am so glad I found this community as even though I am not that high on the totem pole in the business I am so happy that I have a place to brainstorm and learn from your experience and believe me I am learning something new here every day!

I love the flip video camera idea! Time to look at the community camera and see if it has a video ability on it, if so I'll just use that until I get some budget in. But I think that those $200 or so will really pay off in more residents, not to mention the cool factor!

I am going to try the phone thing tomorrow and see how it works and if I get any feedback from it with prospects.

Regardless this is why I love this website, we are sharing ideas to each other in order to succeed. I love Lisa T and her blogs! I actually found this website through her blog and right now I am hooked!

We have been using the flip camera as an option and have found it to work wonderful. We have also taped follow-up video's and e-mailed them to our prospects that are personalized by each leasing agent.

Peggy. Like Beth just stated, we just started using them at one of our properties... but the follow up video is a great suggestion also. I can see this growing!

Also, I just purchased mine at WalMart today for $50. I case Val is looking for a good deal when getting started!!
