Courtney, if there's one thing that you should emphasize as you think about the site, make it clear what you want your visitors to do. Far too often, I see property sites that look beautiful but fall short as effective business tools. The images you choose will "make" the look of the site in terms of visual impact, but you want strong calls to action to steer prospects toward that guest card or email signup.

As far as other ideas for your site, make sure it's easy to find in search engine results, easy for the visitor to navigate and easy for you to manage (including the ability to add new pages as you need to).

You'll also want to think about what it looks like across all types of devices (PCs, tablets and mobile phones). The ideal way to do this now is through a responsive design which automatically adjusts to fit the dimensions of the device.

Good luck with the new site!

I concur with Mike. The design is important, but don't forget to remember the backend details and that it needs to convert customers into leads.

All of these are important and great input. I would also like to suggest you look at creating brand identity. Remember, most prospects these days use multiple marketing mediums and not just one. For this reason creating brand identity through coordinating web site, print, and support web mediums can create memorability. Just as they said, you want the site to bring action and many times in marketing studies that comes from remembrance. I also believe another key element is ease in use and links. Too many steps to get to what a prospect wants to do, and they quickly loose interest. People want information not, and easy to find. Good luck.
