I have been a life long Laker fan even though MJ [not to mean, Mark Juleen, although he is cool too] - is my hero. Really thnk Cleveland has a chance. I hate Boston and San Antonio with a purple passion.
Just remember, Brewer, it's easy to go with the masses... the Cavs are such an EASY pick. Be brave. Go Celtics... and Fliers... but that's a whole other title...
I'll have the Kleenex and anti-depressants shipped to you now, Mike just in case you wise up. I have some great connections in the St.L area for your private grief therapy needs to come.
Mike having spent 16 years in Magic/Kareem land I would love to see the Lakers win. However I am living in Cleveland (very long story) and since James will be in NY next year this is the only chance they will ever have to win a title for this city. I am torn?
I have to say - in addition to being a team fan, I love individuals and what they bring to the game. James is from another planet and I would love to see him really come into his own by winning a title. To do it in Cleveland would be stellar for the city.
I vote for a Cavs - Lakers final. And, will be happy for whoever wins. Is that having your cake and eating it too?
In my heart I am hoping for Atlanta to make it to the finals since I live in their town now. Do not think they have the depth to take it all the way though. Cleveland is showing some strength. I give it to the Lakers though. Cleveland and LA going to game 7.
Totally agree on the Cavs - could have said the same for Denver until they fell apart last night. I think they are going to give Houston or L.A. a run for their money.
As much as I hate to say it, even though Houston bounced back nicely, without Yao they are sunk for the playoffs. Stranger things have happened, but the deck is stacked against them for sure now.
Last night? I'm already switching over the baseball. But the Astros are pretty bad this year.... Hmmm... Is it too early to start thinking about football?
Well I guess that's that! I'm proud of them though - who would of guessed they would have gotten to game 7 without Yao, McGrady, and Dikembo (relevant b/c of no Yao)!
Brent,
They did a great job!! I cannot believe their energy to get them to that point. It was almost as if they were remembering their college days and letting the game motivate them instead of money! Great series. Look forward to seeing what they do next year.
Actually, I think you are right, but it wouldn't be just Nike - that would be a disaster for the NBA overall. Talk about lost marketing opportunities to the casual fan...
