My current company is using AppFolio, but we were are looking at Yardi Voyager. From what I’ve seen so far, it appears that Voyager is more of the accounting end of the platform and we’d also need Rent Cafe or another “add-on” for tenant payments, applications, maintenance requests (most important), etc. Is that correct? I’m so confused and honestly the onboarding process alone has left me with a bad feeling about what is to come.
What problems did you encounter in Appfolio and why are you leaving it? We are working with property management comapany and knows Appfolio really well.
Yardi One is the version that has rent cafe in with it. We switched from Yardi Voyager to Yardi One a few months ago. There’s not much difference from what I see except you can access Rent cafe from Yardi rather than having to access it on a separate platform. But that is from the site end it may other things working on back end that I don’t know about. Ask your company about Yardi One rather than voyager.
Our company uses Yardi Voyager and has for about 8 years. It's been great and you are correct, it is built heavily with the accounting side in mind (our financial manager loves that) . Rent Cafe is an add on, as are other things, so make sure you ask them about every aspect you will be needing. I haven't looked into Yardi One, but from the sounds of others' comments, it might be worth asking what the difference is between Voyager and One. Good luck! switching software is always hard, but many times, it's worth it in the long run
I’ve used both and AppFolio is so much better! Especially if you’re managing multiple properties and travel because you can access the app and handle business from anywhere.
