Brent WilliamsLet's say this was a new community - I think the name needs to stem from the positioning of the community in some way. What is the mission/vision of the company and community, as it relates to residents? Does Lake Ridge actually mean anything? Is the community overlooking a lake on a ridge or something? I think the name should reflect something real and important about the community, and that should be a theme that ripples throughout the rest of the branding and resident experience. So like Amy was saying, I think we would need more information about the community itself.
That said, some great points about the ancillary costs of a name change. It might be a situation where the name stays the same, but the change in management and style is stressed elsewhere. In this way, the meaning of Lake Ridge shifts over time to reflect the mission/vision of your company versus the old.
