How do you deal with working for smaller companies, who don’t seem to understand local laws and don’t train employees?

In the past couple of years I have worked for smaller companies new to the geographic area my communities have been in. They are clueless or plain do not care about state/local laws. I have been trained in my career to protect yourself, your staff and your employer from possible lawsuits/fair housing cases. All staff also receives continuing education in this. I find myself and other team members copying and pasting laws and send them up the chain of command. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Clueless or plan don't care I think are completely different.
The company I work for bought several deals in a market for the first time, as well as first time for myself. Learning the different State / County even City laws can be overwhelming. I myself count on my on the ground and Regional team to assist in ensuring we are following the right laws and regulations for there can be several. If you have the right team they should be the local experts assisting in protecting the multi million dollar assets they have been hired to protect. I am constantly learning as a "higher up" and hope my team continues to share their knowledge as I continue to share knowledge I have.
Now not caring that is a different situation and can only imagine frustrating for those owners are the ones that are making it more difficult for the ones that do as they, in my opinion, are the reasons so many jurisdictions are cracking down.

If they listen that is totally different! It's when they try to tell you that you're wrong...I'm out! Not getting sued for your ignorance! ( I don't mean you specifically of course! ??)

I love this...." I am constantly learning as a "higher up" and hope my team continues to share their knowledge as I continue to share knowledge I have." sign of a great leader! I also relocated out of state and remember going to the FAA they had so many great ideas and I signed up for round table discussions with local and state attorney from my area to learn the laws and regulations.

This also applies to owners/operators moving into States with Contractor license requirements. They don’t care, until they get caught and get fined 6 figures…for the simple things they can do in non license States.

Worked for a company that would not follow Fair Housing laws. He told me that he built the property and was the owner so he could make the rules
