Here's another Curiosity Question: What, to you, is the difference between SUCCESS and FULFILLMENT? And which do you think you're experiencing more right now?
Donje PutnamSuccess is defined by exterior goals/factors. Fulfillment is defined by your internal satisfaction with what you are doing on this earth. I would say I am struggling with both right now. I think if you are in a new environment it's hard to learn how to be fulfilled while you look for success in a new role. I feel like the success isn't quite defined for myself and my confusion and insecurity is affecting my fulfillment. But in the past, I've gotten both these and satisfaction in a job well done in similar roles, so I think it is a temporarily situation, and I'll work to get where I'm going!
JoeyExcellent question, Khara. My thoughts: Success is reaching a goal, fulfillment is the sense of happiness and meaning you experience as you pursue goals and live your life.
Stephanie OehlerThought provoking question! At one time I thought success was a promotion, or a big paycheck. Not exactly the "Life is a game and money is how you keep score" kind of mentality. But success meant my children didn't have to grow up broke like I did. Success and happiness or fulfillment aren't mutually exclusive, but they also don't always come together. I get that speaking gig- that's success or I closed that contract- that's success. But I was WRONG. I didn't feel fulfilled in the way I thought I should. I think our real purpose here is to make each other's lives better somehow. So I strive instead to help others grow, to help them see they are special, to make them feel loved- then I am on my way to being successful AND fulfilled. Success defined for me is to be a better wife, better mom, better sister, better friend, better HUMAN BEING. As I move forward in life & work, I will be asking myself if what I am doing helps me be more successful- using my new definition of success...Thought provoking question! Khara HouseLoving these definitions and the important distinctions you're making between the terms (and your relationships to them)! ????
Delila HouseI love this question Khara! Success is where you see yourself going and achieving your goals. Fulfillment is being filled with happiness and joy as you succeed. Honestly I would say I am more successful than fulfilled at the moment. - definitely a transparent moment.
