Brittney NelsonWe have two at my property: a lobby pop-up with local vendors at regular intervals (think those booths that you see at farmer markets like soap makers or jewelry makers), the second successful event is our Halloween Party….I believe that to be just humans loving to dress up!
Donje Putnam Least successful was a Cinco de Mayo party. Not sure why as some years were pretty fun. Also, we did a poll of our residents to see when they wanted events to happen and our properties had DIFFERENT ANSWERS! So one size does not fit all. Most successful was a wine and cheese party near the holidays.
Joei LemacksI love the idea of a poll. Thank you Donje for that. The resident profile changes over time and what worked before might not work now.
Janet CornettWe always loved our Oktoberfest Party and Breakfast On the Go!
Stephanie OehlerI found tremendous success with our resident events when I published the calendar in January for the entire year. This was before online calendars (wow, showing my age! ha!). Anyway, now I would probably create the events for the entire year on social and publish in the resident portal (or however you communicate with residents). Then, promote and promote and promote. Pool parties with a bbq and a dj were our most successful in attendance. But the ones where we had a "theme" seemed to get people talking more. We did a beers around the world party and everyone brought beers from around the world to share (we provided the food). Note: We would hire off duty police to any event with alcohol to monitor and check ids.
