:::IDEAS PLEASE::: We have these awesome steel parking structures all over our property. However, if a moving truck accidentally hits them they can become damaged. EXTREMLEY EXPENSIVE to repair!! The arms stick out slightly so if a large moving or delivery truck gets too close they risk hitting. We are trying to think of a way to prevent them from being hit. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Guest Insider In addition to height signs, maybe have a specific area and route where moving trucks and delivery trucks can go and park. You could maybe paint the specific spot and have bandit signs or something to show them the route. Similar to how a drive thru place has directionals to the drive thru line. Then for new move ins or move outs you can share with them that information to share with the moving company.

Guest Insider Are you able to have moving trucks only use a certain entrance? I've seen shopping centers have height restriction bars on the drive way entrance to the parking lot so the trucks are forced to enter where they are supposed to for delivery. If you have height restrictions on the property, this might be a good idea anyways so height is posted further removing you from liability.

Miles Scruggs Oh this is a great idea if you can. You hang those height bars which are lower than carport eves. Again only going to work if you have alternative access for larger vehicles. Push this back to the architects of the site design. This is a professional design flaw on their end.

Miles Scruggs Put bollards at the corners etc so that they will hit the bollard long before they hit the structure. Then have cameras on them so if they do hit them you know where to send the repair bill and are less concerned about the cost.

Guest Insider Right yellow steel ballards (?) mounted at each corner. Only reason trucks clip roof /frame is the squeeze over curb. Block the curb.

Jessica Romero Require all moving trucks to provide insurance - just like they do at high rises. Strike a partnership with a company like Good Greek Moving & Storage that’s nationwide to give new move ins special pricing.
