Creating Happy and High-Performing Associates

Brent Williams Such a great article, Stephen. One thing that we have heard/noticed over the past several years relates to #4 - educational opportunities for high performing individuals. What seems to be a common theme is that since our industry is facing such high turnover, that means that there is that much more onboarding needed to be done each month. So an outsized amount of effort ends up going to new team members getting them up and running, and existing team members are sometimes left to their own devices. Provided roadmaps and resources for established team members is so crucial but often just gets lost in the mix in the mad rush to get new hires on board.

Kara Rice I enjoyed this piece, Stephen. And I second @Brent's comments above. It can be so hard to find the resources to provide learning and development opportunities to seasoned employees when there is a non-stop influx of new hires whose needs are so urgent. But, without the investment of resources, those "steady eddie" employees may become disenchanted and head for the exit. I love the approach you are taking at Mill Creek, especially that your growth pathways are very clearly defined and communicated to teams. Thanks for sharing!
