Infusing hotel elegance into multifamily residences for a remarkable resident experience.Validation which includes being seen, heard and taken care of is important for Gen Z, but in my opinion I think that statement really is what every human wants, not just a specific generation. We live in a world where everyone wants control of their own schedule to their own choices that hopefully make their every day life simpler; from purchases to experienc ...
In the fast-paced digital era, where attention spans are shrinking and competition for consumer engagement is fierce, modern storytelling has emerged as a powerful tool for marketers. Gone are the days of one-way communication; today's successful marketing strategies revolve around creating compelling narratives that resonate with the audience. Storytelling in marketing goes beyond mere advertising; it is a dynamic tool that fosters deeper connec ...
In the fast-paced world of multifamily operations, as suppliers, we often find ourselves at a crossroads between the pressing demands of transactional results and the deeper, more fulfilling journey of building trust-actional relationships. Our roles, traditionally gauged by the immediacy of sales and the tangible outcomes of transactions, are evolving in a landscape where the rules of engagement are being rewritten. In this dynamic environment, ...
Merriam -Webster determines 2024 word of the year - AUTHENTIC! With no surprise, are people looking and craving authenticity within this world where we keep leveraging technology. However, with the use of more technology in the next year, how do we strike a balance between leveraging technology and maintaining authenticity? How do we give residents what they want from a technology experience but still create moments and experiences where resident ...
Love to hear, what should our industry focus on for employees when it comes to benefits.
Comments always welcome
Community is the most-desired amenityAccording to ButterflyBMX recent article, "8 trends to expect in the future" #4 trend, "Community is a most desired amenity. We may not think of Community as an amenity or even connect the dots on the benefit when a prospect is looking. Understanding the scope and effect community has on a resident is important. So much so the NMHC/Kingsley Apartment Renter Preference Report showed that 60% of residents indica ...
Opening the mail during this holiday season and my son received this Bingo Card from our Church. I had no idea my son was getting this and he was thrilled and excited to participate. I immediately thought well this is a brilliant idea and why couldn't we do this for our residents. Adults version, a kids version or a mix of both! There is plenty of ways to create a simple easy Free Bingo from etsy to Zazzle to this free site:h ...
Over the last several years, our industry has become aware of the prospect expectations when it comes to the leasing experience. We have heard loud and clear their desire for flexibility, exceptional user technology experience and access at their fingertips to a subject expert when it comes to having questions. Not only have we become aware, but many Management Companies are realizing they must take action and implement new technology to meet the ...
The cliche line, Multifamily is slow to change… on the heels of 2024 our industry I see we need to continue to embrace the change that is needed. I recently asked the Multifamily Insiders Linkedin Group what they saw as the area's we needed to focus on and Staff came in first with 55% agreeing. Lisa Russell shared her perspective digging into three specific areas. She shares the following: 1. Digital Transformation: Property management has been s ...
I recently came across this great webinar! Really thought there was some great take aways for us on the supplier side as well as PMC side with resident experience. Buying decisions are influenced by incidental touching. When a customer is touching something else while evaluating a product or service, they may be more inclined to purchase down the road.Research suggests that when a customer touches an object or has a perceive sense of ownersh ...
As I continue to watch our industry change, I personally see the BDR Role/Sales Role changing from the supplier side.
Over the next 18 months, I see these roles moving towards influencers/ambassadors/connectors. People are not responding to cold emails, it is about sharing information, networking, being invested in what is best for the customers business.
I personally see these roles being less traditional sales and more influence.
Most people think communication is about what they are saying, however exceptional communication isn't about what you said, it is about what the other person heard. Every single individual involved in a maintenance request should know what is happening at every step in the process and can get engaged if they need to. Should the resident call to ask what the status of their request, no matter who picks up the phone, that employee should know. Per ...
Everyone wants to be heard, understood and acknowledged. When you want to put your voice into the room, don't you want others to hear you? And it isn't enough to just be heard. We need people to process our messages and understand them. Understanding actually reinforces our need to be heard. It says "I get what you're saying." But the real pinnacle is to be acknowledged! Acknowledgement doesn't mean you agree with me. Acknowledged means to confir ...
“If you had another Maintenance team member, what would you have them working on?”

Kudos to you Chewy! What a way to deliver and as my sister say, "they are keeping my business"My sister shared with me this portrait below of her dog that was randomly sent to her. It is hand painted and it looks exactly like her dog. No questions, no I want your business or buy XYZ. Purely just a portrait wrapped in gift paper with a beautiful note inside a card.I can't help but think, what a small investment for a life long customer to be loyal ...
