Just had to weirdest call ever on this Monday morning after Thanksgiving...
A lady called to talk to the manager. I took the call and she claimed to have "taken care of" a poltergeist at the apartment complex for us and the poltergeist had a message for the staff members who work here. The message started with, "Unless you want the wrath of God, then...". I stopped her right there in her tracks. I was not going to entertain anymore and...

Brent Williams See, this is why you always get paid in advance before removing a poltergeist, or at least have a signed contract! How is she possibly supposed to get paid now that the poltergeist is gone? It's not like she can simply break containment like in Ghostbusters to release the poltergeist. Silly person.

Megan Goodmundson I wish you would have let her carry on so we could be entertained by the story! But i get it. Aint nobody got time fo’ dat. But for reall. I’ll never forgrt the mail solicitation i got a few years back for an “energy worker” who was for hire to come into a vacant apartment and cleanse the energy. For what its worth i totally believe in “energy”. I just had never thought of energy workers marketing to the multifamily make ready market ????????

Anne Sadovsky this is my 55th year in multifamily....in the 70s and 80s while working onsite, I found that residents are human beings, just like us. And too often we have a resident who is 'weird, strange, mental issues, thinks they are god, thinks they are a comedian, want to discuss their sex life, ask you to watch their kids, gets in the pool in their underwear (or nude); you likely have or will experience these things! You may have heard me say " after a year in this business, you have the equivalent to a degree in psychology!" Some of the most valuable things I learned were to listen, be polite, be kind...and document!!! Unless you fear for your life, and your well-being, chalk up these experiences as education. Eventually, you will see that you have a 'master's in human behavior!'
