Jennifer Ryan Could have been a stove fire smoke sucked in through the return and circulated out. We’ve had that happen.

Jose Maciel A fire would have smoke on a top portion of the walls, I don't see candels making that much soot...Did the not have furniture, or nothing touching the floor except that one round spot??? How in the hell would anything be everywhere unless it was intentional? All I can think of is ground up charcoal sprinkled everywhere and the feed into the return air...

Guest Insider This is mold. When they wash clothes and dry them inside. Air doesn't circulate under the bed or where big pieces of furniture are. By the vents since its colder it stays humid longer. I have seen this in my properties mostly residents from other countries that are used to wash by hand.

Lori Segura I've had this happen if they use plug in air freshers as well, not just candles will do this. especially if they don't clean their filters on their mini splits.
