Advice needed: I am working on this with my regional as this just came up over the weekend and we are off for the holiday today but I have gotten 3 resident complaint emails about a resident over the weekend (who has been an ongoing complainer to management about things himself that he doesn’t think we do well or other residents being loud etc) the complaint and concern is that he was taking pictures and or video of young girls in the pool...Advice needed: I am working on this with my regional as this just came up over the weekend and we are off for the holiday today but I have gotten 3 resident complaint emails about a resident over the weekend (who has been an ongoing complainer to management about things himself that he doesn’t think we do well or other residents being loud etc) the complaint and concern is that he was taking pictures and or video of young girls in the pool during a birthday party on Friday. A resident did call the police but the police said that we have to be the ones to do something .
This resident always ingnores my requests for meetings as we wanted to recently offer him a mutual termination due to him being so unsatisfied with things, but he is good at avoiding us when he is in the wrong. I know he will say he was taking video because they were being loud and turn it into his complaint. But there are now 3 residents who are creeped out by this guy which they have every right to want him gone. I myself have daughters and I am restraining myself of going over to the property today and addressing this to his face right now as I imagine how the mother feels as she has expressed to me over email that he has photos/videos of her children on his phone.
We are in mn. I am uncertain of photo privacy laws etc . I know I will have assistance tomorrow morning from my regional but wondering what action can I take as a property manager to resolve this as soon as possible . Thank you for your advice.
