Hey yall! Has anyone done a Patio contest at thier properties? I am wanting to do that but just don't know how to determine who would win or what prizes yall offered. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Read More...

Tonya Burton-Clark Yes I have done several. I take pictures of participants and post to our Facebook page and let people vote. Top 3 get gift cards tenants love it and it also brings lots of traffic to our page

Guest Insider My primary suggestion is more low value prizes are better than 3 big dollar 1st 2nd 3rd.Say your spend is $175. $100/$50/$25I would suggest $50 and 5x $25. You double the people who won. The basis is so subjective each person liked what they did one will stand out and five more are just slightly different. The goal is MORE participation, not few rewards.

Guest Insider Have done several. A manager from a sister property does the judging for objectivity. Rent abatement is the prize.

Guest Insider I did a drawing style contest! Everyone that cleaned up their patios and did not have violations was entered into a drawing and chosen at random for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The prizes were a $100 gift card for 1st, $50 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd

Sandra Rivas Rodriguez I would do these for holidays and prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd would be giftcards and themed gift baskets. For my midrise I did front door decoration contest...not everyone had balconies.

Guest Insider Choose a theme or two - then let residents vote - pass out numbers on special cut-outs to show which ones are participating. Let those without a patio (if there are any) do a door decoration instead.
