Is it just me or are companies shying away from training their employees now a days? I am sorry, but training videos during business hours with answering phones, and walk-ins and stopping the videos a thousand times is training? Guest Insider Totally agree. I think what happens is that it is so fast paced, ABMs and PMs just have so much on their plate it’s hard to slow down.
I believe in doing things the right way even if it takes longer - similar to the saying like measure twice and cut once.
Training is crucial! I think what would be a good idea is if management companies created a “classroom” environment. Where new employees from maybe several different properties meet at one location and they just train for a month straight.
I once worked for the DMV and that is what they do because there is so much to go over. I think it would be really beneficial for leasing associates starting in a classroom setting because we are handling legal documents, finances, selling techniques, we are dealing with fair housing laws, sensitive situations (for me, I was never prepped on what to do if a resident was murdered 😳 - which happened) and other issues. Lisa Gallinar I agree as I recently experienced this. Though I have nearly 20 years in the industry each organization has there own way to do things. I wasted many hours trying to figure stuff out on my own

Guest Insider Training is sooooo important but yes, with all the onsite responsibilities, it tends to fall to the back of the priority list. I do work with several PMC's who don't let that happen and I think it's awesome!
