I have a silly question, does anyone’s company allow them to wear jeans to the office? Is it only certain days, do you have to wear a branded t shirt on those days?
Anyone whose company allows you to wear jeans styled nicely any time you’d like, have you noticed any negative feedback from residents or prospects?

Guest Insider I don’t know how jeans have gotten such a bad reputation.
I honestly feel like it goes back to these old toxic classist ways to just divide people.
Because you had blue collared men, wearing jeans in mines, farming and just other laborous jobs. Then you had lawyers, executives and other office jobs in suits.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a nice clean pair of jeans. Jeans that perhaps fit better, are more functional and still stylish.
I’d say no to distressed jeans or acid washed jeans. I wouldn’t even care if my manger showed up in a nice blouse and pink jeans. As long as, people look nice and not like they rolled out of bed, shouldn’t really matter too much.

Anamaria Perales-Lang I only allow it when we are doing picnics or OSU vs Michigan day . It’s a business and so people should be dressed accordingly. We provide shirts and maintenance are fully uniformed

Guest Insider Anamaria Perales-Lang I do agree people should be dressed appropriately, but in a world where tennis shoes are part of our business casual attire now, until to see why nice, well tailored jeans aren’t as common.

Chad Christian We allow jeans all days. No impact to residents or prospects. It’s 2024. It’s a casual world and sometimes jeans have a nicer appearance then dress clothes

Guest Insider Agreed, Chad! Nice, dark colored well tailored jeans are considered business casual now so I feel like certain jeans SHOULD be allowed in the work place!

Guest Insider I worked in multi family for years, and it always just depended on the company. Most of the time, it was ok as long as they looked good and with a nice shirt. Now, I work for student housing and my favorite part is being able to dress extremely comfortable. Jeans every day and even t-shirts if they look nice. Yay!

Donna Blackman My previous RVP would not allow any of us in her region to ever where jeans. Always black pants or skirt with the company shirts, no sandles of any kind either. Just her Region. All the other regions were much more relaxed with their clothing.

Guest Insider Depends on the properties and clientele. One of our pms for student props wears what students wear including torn jeans with holes on knees. Other pm for student props is always tasteful casual. Never jeans. The company owners and trustees seem to gravitate towards the casual tasteful dresser when visiting office. You have 2 clients. Owners and residents.
